Catering a corporate event is extremely challenging. There are so many tiny things that come into play that you need to be thinking so far in advance that it’s easy to get lost in the process of planning. Luckily, catering is made easy when you work with a quality company like DiAntonio’s Catering.
As a company, we want to be able to provide our clients with the things that they need to make their event special, but make the planning process smooth. Today we are going to dedicate our blog to the various things that you should be thinking about while you determine what type of food you’d like to have served at your event.
The Quantity
Depending on the amount of people that you would like to have at your event, you may find that one method of serving is better than the other. One thing that has changed are the methods with which we serve our meals. Depending on the number of people that you’ll have at your event, you’ll be able to choose what will maintain the flow of the event the best.
For small groups, it’s not difficult to provide a plate for each individual, so that’s always a great option to have available. With larger groups, you have a few different options. When you’re trying to serve many individuals you can’t always plan for or afford full plates. In those instances, you can choose to either set a menu for a buffet serving, or you can choose to have miniature sized options so that people can grab and go as they choose. This allows for you to have a large selection of food for people to get bite-sized samples of.
At the end of the day, if you’re not entirely sure which of these options is going to be the best, we can run through the options and your budget and determine which one of them is going to provide your guests with the food that they need at a cost that you can afford.
Formality
Another thing that you’ll want to consider is how formal the event is going to be. If the corporate event that you’re looking to have catered is going to be a black dress, suit and tie type of event, then you are likely not going to want to be serving finger food to your guests. This is not only slightly messy, but it takes away from the overall formality that you’ve created for the event.
On the other end of that spectrum, if you are trying to host an event where there will be mingling, dancing or an open floor that allows for an ease of movement, finger food, and small hor dourves are a fantastic option. This keeps your guests full, allows for you to add a couple of different types of foods to your selection and maintains the overall energy of the event.
There is a time and place for each of these, but understanding when one is going to be a better option than the other is what matters in this instance.
Budget
There are times where you will entirely have to juggle your options based off of the budget that you’re working with. If you don’t have a ton of money to work with for the event, then providing each individual with their own dish may not be the most realistic option.
Rather than push yourself over your budget, we can talk to you about a few of the other options that you’ll have that will also keep you within your budget. As a whole, we want to make sure that you have the menu and food items that will cultivate the event that you have envisioned, but at the same time, we want to ensure that we are taking into consideration the budget that you’re working with for the event.
Aside from these items that we’ve mentioned today, there are certain things that you’ll need to consider where the event will take place, what the layout looks like, and how you plan on serving the food to your guests. With all of these things compiled, you’ll be able to have a good understanding of which option will work best while also complimenting the event that you’ve organized.
Regardless, you’ll have the help of our trusty team to get you to where you need to be with your event so that when the day comes, you feel confident in what it is that we’ve organized.
